Edie

Our own house line

cut from Edie Marlowe's patterns in Leicester

Ten years in the old haberdasher's.

Josie Lambert spent twelve years buying for other people's shops before she opened her own at number 147, in April 2016. It had been a haberdasher's until 2009, and we kept the long mahogany counter, with the brass yard measure still set into its top.

Marlowe is named after Josie's grandmother, Edie, who made dresses for half of Dalston from her front room. Our house line is cut from her own patterns — three or four pieces a season, made by a family workroom in Leicester.

Edie's patterns, still in use.

Forty-five minutes, before or after hours.
